Easy-to-book self-guided walking and cycling packages

Let Highland Transfers take the weight off your shoulders while you experience Scotland's most famous great hikes and bike rides.

Will you choose to walk the West Highland Way, from Milngavie to Fort William, or the John Muir Way, journeying across Scotland from Helensburgh to Dunbar? If you prefer, we can arrange a package so you can run or cycle these popular trails, too.

The North Coast 500, a circular road cycling route from Inverness to Inverness, is another fantastic option and rated as one of the best cycling routes in the world. We show you a great “alternative” NC500 cycling route that ensures you ride the quietest roads. We will book accommodation and transfer your luggage daily as well.

The Badger Divide is a fabulous off-road cycling adventure from Inverness to Glasgow (or vice versa). Our experts can create a bespoke schedule, including luggage transfer and accommodation to suit your fitness levels aspirations.

Our packages are self-guided but we give you all you need to walk, run or cycle from A to B each day, while making it easier to enjoy the journey because we will move your luggage from accommodation to accommodation.

Where possible, we will meet you during the day to provide support should you need it.

Why book with Highland Transfers?

Highland Transfers is passionate about exploring Scotland, especially on foot or by bicycle. We are very familiar with these classic Scottish walking and cycling routes, which means we are well placed to help with the self-guided information.

Whether you're a seasoned walker, love cycling or this is your first time walking or cycling in Scotland, we can offer you the best way to enjoy a self-guided holiday. You can choose from our carefully planned cycling and walking holiday packages, book luggage transfer only, or you can ask us to help you to customise your ideal Scottish cycling or walking holiday.

To find out more about the service we pride ourselves on offering, read our reviews

We consider our business to be carbon conscious. In a bid to off-set the environmental impact of driving vans, Head Sherpa Ryan has planted more than 11,000 trees and continues to do so. We also combine as many luggage transfers as possible to reduce the number of road journeys we make.

To find out more about our self-guided holidays, see West Highland Way, John Muir Way, NC500 "our way", and the Badger Divide.

How it works: Self-guided walking or cycling holiday in Scotland

Holiday packages, or luggage transfer

Booking is easy for our self-guided walking and cycling holidays. First, have a read about each of the trips and then head to Book Online. You can pick an accommodation-and-baggage-transfer package, or a baggage-transfer-only booking, to suit you. There is a choice of the number of days you can take to complete the journeys.

If you don't see an option to suit you, for example if you want to run a route over fewer days, or you want to cycle a walking route,  please do give us a call or message us to discuss the options for a bespoke trip.

* Note, we do not offer baggage transfers only for the NC500 or Badger Divide.
